Ah, yes…. It’s easy to forget, turn to another station, read the next article, get up ….get on with your life, contemplate supper, or the next gathering that will be merry with laughter and conviviality, with ample wine of course. Or just a new film. That’s how easy it is…… Truth be told, though, that is how it is ….being part of the ‘normal’ charade called life.

But, yes, there are intrusions – too many and too tragic to be listed here – that we will simply note [as we have] not with all the blood and tears spent, love lost, sickened, grief-stricken…..

A few emotional epithets here and there will do, a bit of anger expressed in righteous indignation, for at least five minutes; another horrendous event taken by teaspoon, chewed, swallowed and digested in its passing entirety.

Yes, there is a ‘doer’, not just me or ‘us’ or ‘y’all’….. to whom each of us must answer the questions our elder [Hopi] brothers have raised [a few of which are repeated to remind oneself]:

Where are you? Not just ….what physical place you occupy at this very moment; or what set of circumstances you see yourself in that, perhaps, defines you…. what is the theme of your life, your ‘agenda’ – the work or play or commitment?

What are you doing?  Do you think it is your ‘job’ you are being asked to define? Or maybe the purpose it serves? Could it be that the answer to this question is the truth that ‘defines’ you? How will it be understood by your grandparents? By your grandchildren? What does it tell them, all your forebears as well as your progeny ….about you?

Who are you doing it for?  For whom are your efforts made?  Can you really answer this while looking in the mirror, in a pure unadulterated light? Who is the beneficiary of your labors? Is this what you were born to do?  Born for ….could it be?

Where are you going?  Yes, you acknowledge that you are on a journey through life, that you are on a path, and are ….getting there! But where is it you are really going – is this the destination you dream of? Is it a place you always wanted to ….get to? Or a position that is the deserved result of all the efforts you’ve been making?  And what is it you will have when you get there….

Who are you taking there?  Is it a loved one? Family, friends? ….. or is yours a solitary trip only you understand?  Who, what does your role serve?

Yes, it is truly time to speak one’s truth. For it is that truth by which you shall be known.  The words of our elder brothers resonate all too clearly, piercing the veils between our temporal, material world and those that were, are, and always will be …..we are challenged, each one of us, to speak up now and show ourselves for what we really are, and to do so with all the courage we can muster, for there really is so little time left in which to prepare….

nothing more can possibly be added, except …..pay attention; you have been apprised.

“….All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.”

Here are some of the more esoteric thoughts one enjoys at moments like this. The spirit is always refreshed when no more stress can attach….

It’s true that darkness is overtaking the world. Or taking over ….is more convenient. But never fear that it is only in a vacuum of fidelity that folly [and evil] are able to subsist. Guess we can throw in ignorance as a coverall concept ….since it is the fashion today.

Rather than believe any more in the ceremonies of hypocrites – or engage them as judicial arbiters, a full-time job for some, as one knows from history – let us hasten to complete this phase of our journey and leave behind the mess as quickly as we can….

Only in passing, let us hope and let us pray, will we resolve the dilemma that haunts us [ever more extremely] at this oh-so-lovely edge of the world ….wherein our hearts we know it had always intended to be so different.

Then how was it we got so off course?  Ah, the inevitable raises its head again; we do so want to interfere and ‘change’ things.  This applies especially to those we love ….and so it not only applies to our progeny and parents but to the lowliest of our extended family no matter what form or shape they take.

Yes, I do want to hear Siegfried mourn over Brunhilda’s pyre ….even the trees will listen as rapt as we. But, no, I will neither look at nor listen to ‘….what’s happening’ in the evolving nightmare spreading throughout the world around us.  Quick!  “Get thee to a nunnery”.

Grandfather was so clear about it, and [br]others too amongst our family now: do not look back; you don’t want to know what is happening.  Damn, they just wouldn’t listen!  Better we converse with the trees, the wind, the waters…. That way we shall truly know what we must do to express our love, this greatest gift of all.

That will be the hardest part of all ….for we have so many and so much we love so deeply still flailing there. Though it must be terrifying for any of them to face the fact of the wholly failure of their ship…

Oh so close! Now only months, not years from the dream-scheme of life that Edenhope is…. And we, Ruth and I, just like poor rabbits running after it like it was the most splendid carrot ever! Well, it is….

Find ‘the essence of Hopi prophecy’ and real all about it. Good night ….and good luck!
