So much has come to pass since we last added to this page that we cannot capture it all. Most important though, to whomever might possibly tune in to this eclectic opportunity for serious reasons, though, is the decision we took to cutting back the scale of its plan. And a change in its actual venue.

We’re also aware now that the point of no return has been passed; that time is fast running out and that preparations such as Edenhope must be secured now, without delay, or they may never be completed. There seem to be no end of opposing spirits.

The ‘world’ is increasingly caught up in a maelstrom of self-destruction, long anticipated. We always expected that the economy would collapse first, as it is the most fragile construct of the technological civilization that prevails.

It is ironic that so very few have truly ‘gotten’ what is happening to them and their world.  For that matter, even most of those who are close to us ‘don’t get’ what the project is either. ‘Grandfather’ [Stalking Wolf] said about the four signs:- “They will be obvious to you and those who have learned to listen to the Spirit of the Earth; but to those who live within the flesh and know only flesh, there is no knowing or understanding….”.So it is no surprise that no one else has recognized Edenhope. There are still only two of us here….

It is difficult taking leave of the paradigm we are all so used to, full as it is of so much of what is familiar. It is especially difficult to provide [for those whose lives we may have had a hand in bringing into the world] as there is no way out. But, of course, each must see that for himself.

Which brings me to some thoughts I want to share.

Each child is a sacred and hope-filled opportunity for the material world to engage the Spirit World. Yet the chance is dismissed. Instead it is perceived that one’s child must be adapted to the ruling paradigm – diverted, entertained, bribed or otherwise seduced by and to it – perforce to ensure that the sacred path is nevermore an option. The old paradigm is attached by very strong chains.

So once again the World of Spirit loses…..  It seems there is no way out of the  conundrum.

Ruth & I had made a priority of  building a ‘family compound’. It was a way to keep part of the promise that bringing our children into the world implied. This would be their refuge – there for them whenever they realized the futility of staying there…. Land will always feed, shelter  and clothe them. Is there anything else of importance-? Are we that far ‘round the bend-?

The compound was originally intended to be outside of the ‘project’ ….because they had not attained the understandings that membership requires. Nonetheless it was nearby and their children might well be able to profit from the program within it.

But such purely personal considerations aside now, as there is no longer any urgent need for it, and as we weigh up such factors against the host of difficulties we encountered in trying to bring the project to a conclusion here, we finally embarked upon the changes we are discussing here.

We have learned to live comfortably with the fates, are not frightened by them.

We have already taken delivery of 120 tons of hardwood. This is for the structures, the components of the ten or so buildings we expected to have started already. But it is not sitting and waiting; the timbers are being pre-fabricated here in town so that assembly in the bush will go very quickly. Flooring and decking, doors, windows, etc – everything pre-fab. Within a month or thereabouts, more than a container load of furniture and wall covering materials will arrive from Bali [a consequence of the very productive week we spent there in October].

Where we had bogged down, the land issues are still not resolved, not to any point where one could prudently begin to build. In fact there are more profound issues beneath the surface, and we were reluctant to expose others to the tensions and implied threats that had arisen. So we are relocating the Project; and downsizing it as well.

One thing for sure is our comfort with the people here. Apart from where jealousy and greed arises – and it is everywhere – there is warmth and joy that is easy to share. That is the particular pleasure of Vanuatu.

So in all probability we will situate Edenhope in an even more remote area than was contemplated.  Perhaps that was the better course after all, a place that will be comforting by its remoteness; we shall soon see. Later this week we will take an exploratory trip to that possible alternative.
