What A Trip!

April 22nd, 2013

This past Tuesday, we arrived at Edenhope with a younger couple, she an Argentinian scientist on loan from AusAid [to Northern District Hospital] …and he a sympathetic Aussie merchant sailor who’s been checking out the world one trip at a time. Having found us online, they sought to meet. Then someone pointed Ruth out in town. So we invited them up even for a short visit - that’s all were able to make…..

Our sailing trip up the coast became a sublime combo of Mozart and Dolphins – they must have heard the music and loved it….. so we drifted silently in the water with them. When we stopped, so our guests could dive in and be with them, they swam off to a comfortable, ’safe’ distance and drifted a while showing their fins. It was clear they didn’t want to consort with us ….just yet. [We tried some Beethoven on the way to town Wednesday but the sea was rough].
Bush Cabins bush-cabin-1.jpg
Guests’ stay in the ‘bush cabin’ we had used this past year and a half ….since construction began. It was the catalyst we needed [Ruth and I] to move out of BC-1 and into ….Bungalow ‘C’, being the furthest up-river heading East …..some 150m from BC-1. There was only the merest of accumulation to bring with us to our new home; life is forseeably simpler in the bush.

The move brought us to a new reality though, like the refrain of a new song ….or perhaps swells rising in the sea in slow motion. It was truly a new kind of euphoria ….being where one could finally avow it to be ‘home! the last home we shall probably ever have….’

Interestingly, the many perspectives that octagonal construction offers may also be the basis for celebration - certainly it is a new orientation. So it is that waves of joy just keep on acomin’…. Of course the aroma of oiled hardwood and varnished bamboo added incense to the experience….

It’s really sweet to be home! Hard to believe it took six and a half years to get ‘here’. Perhaps all the different angles is making it refreshing – what a new world one is in! First night the veil was so close…. a moving shadow briefly part of the materium …reminding me of the first night we slept in Edenhope ….when we heard voices in the forest…..

Yes. We are home! Home at last.

Our mood is celebratory. The new world is truly all around us, seeping into any empty space as quickly as it is vacated, just simply displacing the old. Such is the destiny of the old world. The language of reality has such clarity of purpose it becomes truly magical, spontaneous….no more a relic of old ways. Thrills – great and small – arise with each dawn ….and recur throughout the day ….accompanying us until night falls and we with it.

Picked up a notable quote while listening to an interview with Ram Das by the late Terence McKenna [took place some years ago in Prague] ….been chuckling over it ever since….. “There is a transcendental dimension beyond language….. It’s just hard to talk about….”

We will receive a number of visitors over the next few months. Most will come from among those we have already invited over this long while of preparation. We did have an ‘official’ delegation from the Provincial Administration arrive unanticipated a day or so before we left last trip ….they were doing a survey so as to hone their efforts to stimulate investment. They couldn’t have anticipated the advice they were given – but, in retrospect, the gambit we chose was also a success. Perhaps seeing [really] is believing….!

There’s still a myriad of details to do ….like making pools in the river [till the next torrential rain takes them out]. Perhaps one can be really clever and invoke the benediction of Natural Law …..to be considered, just as Schauberger did so elegantly in “The Water Wizard” et al.

What’s more? it’s time for me to hand over the baton of ‘operations’.

Our several gardens – indeed the whole campus - are a permacultural foundation moving across the land. We see where each species thrives, in own particular location, and it winds up making up a marvellous mosaic of leaf and flower ….seducing the bees and butterflies and other harbingers of fertility and vigor …..we sure have what with to satisfy – and it is so sweet! ….Ruth and Katherine know.

It is as if a new freedom is upon us; perhaps just Peace ….but it sure is allowing the world we knew to just fade from consciousness…. as in direct-inverse proportion to the loss of biodiversity we witnessed in the old world. Thus cometh the Edenhope Universe …ity in the new world.

If you test real mushrooms from the forest [with kinesiology] and then have the experience of eating such exotic food off Edenhope land ….you may see how satisfying life can be - we cooked them into Katherine’s special ‘island kai-kai’. Yes, peace….

Another milestone to make mention: Edenhope is finally to be presented to the Council of Ministers for official support and recognition. But above all it will signal acknowledgement by the Nation of a Project that it honors; even as we Honor Great Spirit for Creation. From this milestone will issue the Residence Permits that will enable Edenhope membership to be here indefinitely….

There’s always something goin’ on ….ain’t there?

On arrival now, we are able to tie up to the mooring - the one-tonne blocks have all but sunk into the sand, perfecting our merely mortal attempts at arranging them into an effective anchorage. We left town an hour and a half after the barge and arrived at Tasmate an hour ahead of it.
Just Passing Araki Island….

This trip was to complete the last ‘big’ shipment of ‘furniture, fixtures and fittings with which to equip Edenhope. The chartered barge [landing-craft] was filled to the brim. Once the digger disembarked, the materiel that followed took the rest of that day and next to get it just to the shed, protected from the recurrent rains that surprise one at this time of year.

Then transporting it all up to Edenhope took four more days - or eleven round-trips with the tracked truck [each round trip takes at least three hours, what with loading and off-loading]. Arriving at the ‘Admin’ building, each load of contents were immediately distributed to the bungalows and/or the warehouse while we had the labor to do that [four of our own team and five from the village].

….So now we can move into the small bungalow that was reserved for us [as permanent members of this site of Heaven]. At the same time, that frees up bush cabin one [that we used for the last year and a half since they were built] so visitors can be accommodated. We were surprised that, coincidentally, several young people have begun to dialogue with us about prospective visits.

Those who are destined to be family with us in this ‘ultimate’ project don’t yet know us, nor have they yet responded to the community of spirits with whom we also share our sacred place [you will not be offended if we use that descriptor ….since the veil that separates us from them [in the ordinary course] is virtually at the perimeter of our village-space.

We have been expecting these fellow-beings for a long time now, many, many thousands of years ….so there is every likelihood that the reunion when they finally ‘come home’ will be one helluva n’ event. We are preparing for it in our celestial/terrestrial way! Besides, we need help unpacking the books and then the library hast be put in order. They will no doubt be adding to it….

We had a surprise visit from the SANMA Provincial Government, the ostensible purpose of which was to survey current investment [negligible on west coast] and report on what it will take to increase it. The beauty of what we have been working on has counted, and has generated further interest from the local authorities.

While we were effectively on site [that is, in the bush] for the last ten/twelve days, the national government changed, precipitated by the resignation of a weak PM who didn’t want to face the Motion of No Trust/Confidence that was about to be thrown in his face. In its place a lighter agglomeration of spirits has established a beachhead with some fresh air….

While the world that has supplied us the wherewithal and what-with to get Edenhope finished hasn’t yet crashed ….especially since we’re not quite ready. We are, however, wary of how much destruction is in the pipeline for the rest of this year and beyond. It still strikes one how such a construct of mendacity, hypocrisy and suffering [truly a nightmare] could have been realized ….without those who had to participate in it knowing it was only a ‘limited engagement’.

The time has finally come when we [all of us] can recommend Edenhope to those who may well be considered ‘ready’ for it….! Those who are right for it will have come to the same conclusion as we, that the new world must be Created now, even as the old one fades away….

Moreover, they will have also concluded that their previous efforts to change the inevitable destiny [of clean-up] that the terminally-ill world now faces ….was an impossible dream …that it is now one they must leave ….and quickly. They will undoubtedly want to visit. We will need time for all that has to occur before the process of ‘matriculation’ is complete. It starts with an application - that is found on the headers bar above ….but a password must be requested from us.

So here we are [in the first day of April] ….both sun and son have once again risen. We are living in the throes of birthing a new world. Could it be more exciting? It is time for a prayer….

The gun was purchased last year, with ammo of course, and an extra magazine added to hold a serious quantity of cartridges. It lies there, on the closet shelf as it has ever since the day it was brought home, gathering some dust ….but it is still quite ready for use.

The purpose of the gun is to protect its owner[s] from assault by marauding invaders – if necessary it would be used to shoot-to-kill any person or many people ….whomsoever is the threat. It was bought in the event the owner had to defend himself and his family from menace in a time of anarchy or panic. The intent to use it was there since the day it was bought, lying at some level of consciousness, always at the ready.

In law ‘intent’ must be present to make a case for a deliberate event but it is also a basis for conspiracy. In our language though, intent is also what a Persona is made up of….. It is the aggregate of all the ever-ready inclinations that determine who/what ‘that’ person is….

Each of these separate inclinations are attributes of their bearer, these most singularly defined intentions that in the genetic construct of the person are the myriad aspects that one sees in the most diffuse array called ‘that’ person…..

Without even knowing it, intentions are dissolved into the person, becoming part of its nutrient mix, and ultimately absorbed into the evolutional [or devolutional] DNA that resides in and defines that person. So finally, the act of purchasing that weapon has infiltrated the destiny of that being….

We all proceed in our purposes. Whether or not we do so consciously is another story, though it is one that occupies a significant place in the Edenhope agenda. The net effect of all our intentions is what we actually realize as the moments of our life tick away…. There can really be no disagreement with that assumption – it is as obvious as it is true. This is also Karma, the consequence of who we are…..

You see, now, the conundrum of galactic time is resolved, as when all of the intentions are considered. They are gathered in each persona - and are collected in the social order ….all of which we unconsciously conjure even as it spans a ‘lifetime’ …..or for as long as the dream persists. It is not just the event of killing that makes one a killer. Choice of behavior is oft predetermined ….even though the individual or communal ‘bearer’ may be fast asleep and in an unconscious stupor. God help us that it has come to this….!

So you see the confusion and hypocrisy of the world today ….in each and every one who takes part in it…. One has only to look in the mirror. Standing there is that persona in all its fullness, the willing participant in the remarkable entropy his personal and societal intentions have conceived and dreamed.

Now this may be too distressing a conclusion to draw. Admittedly, there are other factors that will also bear upon the totality presented in the mirror. Nonetheless it is still a logical presumption; and seeing it for what it is will better enable one to determine who he or she is ….if the usual blinders are removed - if it matters, that is….!

Bienvenido al Quinto Mundo

February 4th, 2013

What a chuckle to hear we are taken for ‘two old hippies’ around Luganville town. So that’s what Ruth and I have come to after all these years….! We call it ‘base’ as it has served us well these last six years. But it is not home, even though there are warm smiles and familiar faces everywhere we turn here. It was always ‘temporary’, just like their own lives - they live very close to their own mortality here.

There really is no substitute for the forest ….where we truly are ‘at home’.

The shed [with its sweet apartment on top] is no more than an efficient pied-a-terre. The warehouse [below] is 30,000 sq ft - that ain’t tiny. It is the place we still return to [in the ‘Lila’ of collective consciousness] ….the staging post to which we repair from time to time …mostly to get ‘things’ done [now that really is an anomaly!].

Neither of us is much inclined any more to leave our beloved Edenhope. The magic of being surrounded by Peace and Quiet is a thrill. So pure it could almost be offensive to want to pipe Wagner’s Rheingold into the stillness. But we seem also to have created a certain sense of excitement, almost anticipation, in the forest ….as the trees have yielded so lovingly to us after the decades [eons, nearly] of sometimes too much passive patience! And such music has a resonance….

Really, there remain only two reasons to keep the shed in Luganville at all: to get certain matters put to bed so that we are further empowered to leave, and to organize the final charter or two that will bring the last of our ‘things’ to west coast. Of course there will always be an issue of where to stay when we’re in town, or in Vila – meanwhile we’ve solved the problem of shuttling back and forth it appears, extravagantly. [see pic]
LightShip - Waiting for us in Australia Sep 2012

Then, soon, we will have to attend to the needs of those who join us, and of course we will help them gladly – and in the meantime there will be visitors. We are still enjoined to this paradigm for the while it appears, even
as the day is steadily creeping toward the moment when we repair to our retreat for the last time. Now that is a reckoning of sorts to contemplate….

The world holds little enticement for us anymore – the forest has worked its charm on us; it’s begun to be our true home. BTW we’ve just heard about the ‘Emerald Forest Network of Communities’. We must share with them our mutually most valuable commodity: goodwill.

Do you remember the film of that same name, it was “The Emerald Forest”. Yeah, it was magic…. This is the name of reality. It Isreal [what a journey!] I guess this is all part of world making. What a special blessing to be here now …one could never have wished for this, it’s beyond awesome. It would have been too much to ask….

Yes, there is still suffering ….we are not oblivious to it at all. The thousand dolphins that Solomon Islanders just slaughtered to spite the American Charity that didn’t pay what they expected….! Oh yeah, it hurts ….so too the horrors of war and aggression and the spilling of blood all over the world - it’s relentless.

Even the smaller, every day rankles - caused by pressure put upon one by another - are from the same infected place. Please try to remember: the vulnerable, and the fragile ….are defenseless! Is it not true of so many of us…? Was it really too much to bear? ….Just be patient now.

Did anyone notice the intense series of focused, direct-hit earthquakes ….some really quite large, all concentrated on/in the Solomons’ Islands this past week? That was our Mother imploring them to stop the killing – but they weren’t listening. Is anyone listening? …I leave you to answer that.

There are heroes; some sung, most unsung. Take Bradley Manning for instance…. We do so hope he is at Peace …..for he has shaken the armaments with his small, but true voice. It all seems to pass right by the rest without a nudge. Sleep is such a relief. Imagine, one doesn’t even have to dream!

In a curious post-solstice twist, the dark-side malevolents that had helped manifest the world we also chose to beleave ….are no longer with us. The galactic shift of dimension has already turned them out on the other side ….so the manifestation, or so it appears, of the continuum ….is only a temporary result of the momentum left in the lila [dream], nothing more. Now that ain’t much ‘cop’, is it?

Watch what happens once the PTB realize they have nothing more than that to hold the dream [and the dreamers] in their thrall – they haven’t any allies in the underworld any more. Thus the sickened paradigm will soon drown in its own futility ….whomsoever is infected with that awful violence must [will] become their own victim, displaced, distraught, adrift …with no exit ….and, worse! without future…. Now that is grief, is it not? Dread….

We have been well taught - our Brethren held True, never slacking from the Great Work they Trusted. A burst of energy rises up as they are cheered. It says: ‘YEAH’ - ‘Never again!’ ….We just will not allow it, ever again…!

“Lullabye ….and goodnight ….to the Roses Delight…. Creep into Thy Bed….”

Yeah, almost in Heaven

Dear Brethren, Family All….

Well, we are finally there…..

I am overcome with an urge to pray, ….truly my spirit is humbled, It seems as if prostrating myself would be more appropriate than writing …but I am writing ….to all of you ….with such a humble heart, surprised I can still effectively do so….. my sense of where we are is profound.

What led to the spirit journey that ended here in our Beloved Edenhope …. began on 7 February 1962, almost a year since I had been on ’walkabout’ for the first time …. Number 7 Feb 1962 was one such day that, like now, was monumental - it was truly of cosmic dimension. Fully seven [7] planets had ‘knelt’ at the altar of Great Spirit.. In astronomical talk, the event was a ’syzygy’ ….sure some of us knew what it meant …..in hyper-reality, it was a most Sacred moment in the Divine cycle we have come to see [to some extent] and, above all, respect…. I realized only some of this then - thus did my own pilgrimage truly begin….. Truth was ….I had started to See!

Now we are approaching a new ‘cosmic event’ ….one that was explicitly communicated to us by so many before us, it almost seems ….irrelevant. But stand back, look at it objectively: the Mayans’ astronomic precision [in particular] is nothing short of …..awesome! So, yes, it’s finally here…! Foretold in virtually every scripture of relevance, the cosmic ceremony finally upon us now. Many do know what it means and what it portends ….they have already spoken to whomsoever would listen ….and they realize the implications of the end it portends….. Indeed it is to become that for us all in due course!

It is especially hard to share this with those one loves dearly, whose eyes are not yet open to it…… For there is Dread ahead ….and like the earthquake and flood, the tsunami has no personal vengeance to exact….! Even so, they will not ’see it’ and thus be spared some angst….

And, too, there is an indisputable fact in all this: the world will still be here post 21-12-12 …..for we know, without question, that such a momentous cycle has completed at least three times before ….during the special journey ‘modern’ man has traveled and survived each time. Yet we have forgotten how and why we survived …..just as we simply forgot to respect those who passed on to us this gentle and most beautiful world.

So, yes, we can see that each one of these extraordinary occasions was the end of an era itself, the monumental terminus of ‘periodic growth’ and further speciation [evolution]. And we must also acknowledge - if we are rational and fair - that each time it was with its apocalyptic implications fulfilled….. since those who’d obtained consciousness not only anticipated the beginning of another era ….they knew what they must do …..and did it!

Our beloved elder [Hopi] brethren spoke eloquently about the present momentous occasion ….because it was of such profound significance they could no longer keep it to themselves. Grandfather also gave us the story of his vision-quest. After all that, and regardless of it, the world of Honor and Respect ….has never been so bereft! It is ironic that the True Wisdom was never lost, it was with those ‘indigenous’ families who were faithful to Mass’au…. the rest lost it.

The great horde who still pretend to call themselves ‘homo sapiens’ will awaken on the morning after the Sacred Day passes. It will be like any/every other day. If they still remember anything of the dread they felt, they will look reassuringly at themselves in the mirror and congratulate themselves that nothing happened and everything is ….as it was. Nothing happened …..yet!

But a new sense of ‘reality’ has already set in; there have been too many wake-up calls. 9-11 came and went, leaving many unanswered questions; the tsunami of December 2004; the socio-economic mortality shown us in ‘07; the huge Gulf oil spill; the earthquake that devastated Haiti; the big one in Japan that led to a devastating tsunami and spun off ‘Fukushima’ ….that continues to pollute the earth. And non-stop wars all over the earth! This is Mother Earth’s long-suffering reality!

Those who know what is happening ….will experience ever-iincreasing consciousness ….though they will be fraught with sadness for those who are left behind …..they have already embarked on the path to a new world. There is no turning back! They will live their farewell for ever. This failure must never be repeated! ….the old paradigm must cease entirely to be!

Our Time now will be filled with astonishing events …..they will occur spontaneously out of the erstwhile burden of ‘normalcy’ and ‘boredom’ which brackets most lives…. Events of great ‘power’ will erupt, isolated, impersonal ….virtually indifferent as to when and on whom they strike; such is the ultimate expression of Karma: one for all - all for one! The multitudes affected will neither know nor understand….

Unrelenting pressure is now to be put upon those who consider themselves the ‘Powers That Be’ - their isolation shall be uncovered fully and they shall be naked as they experience the failure of their power in the face of a new reality. Fear in consequence will drive them, these godforsaken people, out of their minds….

Yes, the ‘Day After’ will appear just like every other day one remembers…. See? there was nothing special ….that has not happened ‘a million times’ before. Death and Rebirth have always happened before ….only this time, we ran into a galactic time warp, the very special blessing that accompanied us to this blessed site. We shall yet see why we failed again ….once we recognize the simple, sacred task we inherited, just by being born into the materium [and become part of the glorious Experiment].

A mighty mess we’ve made this time, we who were supposed to be warriors. Had we fulfilled our part ….as protectors of Mother Earth’ and The Creation, there would be no litany of sins for which we are responsible…. Singly, Collectively….. each of us now bears the karmic burden of our blind spree. Rest assured, the outcome will be in direct proportion to our failures…. no less, nor more.

Ruth and I will enter a Sacred Circle of devotion for the eight to tenth day of this Countdown ….through fasting and meditation …. and humbly acknowledge what we have been blessed with…. Our beloved Edenhope will embrace us in all its sumptuousness …..it is all alive with Spirit.

How long it has taken us to get here….!

No doubt those who will now join us in this continuing Divine Experiment will present themselves. Our time has come full circle - together we shall inter the past…. And then we will turn to such endeavors as the Children of the Earth require of us…..

All this I pray…..

We were at 12,12,12….. Countdown begun!

Time To Muse Upon Our Work….

November 5th, 2012

We have just returned. The Journey - finally on Edenhope’s Lightship - was a long one but without doubt part of our Path. And we too set about resting. After all it was on the seventh day…..

So, reflecting upon what we have learned, there is this to be said:

We - our highest selves - are like flowers…. We have returned to the Earth to partake in its fullness and glory - now that is our Story.

It is The Role we came to claim ….even as those who do not share it, who cannot recognize it ….will in the end come to see it ….in that brief flash when it all passed ….before their very eyes!

Yes, we were blessed to leave the darkened womb wherein we regenerated our body and spirit, and from which we came into a loving space, bursting upon the awesome Dream it offered us, refreshed and bound up in another surprise naivete. This was the gift Creation bestowed.

Journeys can be tiresome and long…. but We have been refreshed and thus able to encounter the world again, to [hopefully] grow into it gracefully, in that comely fashion we know to be a sacred experience; as there beauty and tenderness will abound in us, overflowing….

Of course there will come a time when we grow old ….although there will be no pain ….whatever there was of it was long ago absorbed into our fragile senses [for we had inherited a world wrought by the dream also of our other brothers and sisters ….it abounded around us as if we were a single stalk of wheat in a prairie full of it.

But we were not ….and too many [you will say] were ignorant of the Hope they came with ….disinterested in the tenderness the Great Dream purported. Instead they inclined to personal gain at the expense of their soul ….but we persisted and were always there. What accompanied us was the renewing energy of our Edenhope, it was ever fed by the morning dew ….truly an rising prayer. With this we found each enlightening day …..where it was meant to be.

Thereupon We also sought to take upon us the pain we had caused ….and because it was more than one could bear ….we strove to take it upon ourselves as one would a mantle, as the larger One we always wanted to be….

….and thus did We learn to walk the Sacred Path. The joy is a blessing only because it is not so personal that only few could share it …..and so we incline as never before ….unto the Divine.

And there, too, one day we will grow old ….and then close our eyes. But then we shall be so close to our maker….. we could! almost there, together again….

Ahh, my brothers and sisters, pray that those who know this path and the lovingkindness of it ….and that they have the strength needed to stay there, just upon it.

Thus will they beam that bright Essence our Children yearn for and will seek it too, and then they will see

…..for they are the nation we are becoming ….they are our Children of the Earth

….They are, We are ….the Rainbow Warriors!

Heading Into Summer ….Fall!

August 12th, 2012

Here we are, back at Edenhope, after an unexpected stay in town of almost two weeks – the seas were forbidding, so we couldn’t risk the battering it would have been sure to give us…. Our small [6.7m] boat is no warrior! What was surprising, though, is that we needed every bit of the extra time to get through the list of things we had to do …..and then some! ruth-touring-new-facility.JPG

Like we were able to bring the new electrician up with us – a need that had become pressing. Revision work caused by the first electrical/plumbing contractor [we took off the job] would take the better part of his first week. But he should finish well before the termination point of the project. The only new work we added was to install and wire a fan in each of the six bungalows.

On his own, though, he added a prudent revision ….splitting the power load from the solar array by running another, parallel cable to the ‘power house’ and adding back the second ‘controller’ the other guys didn’t know how to use; the one installed was already at its max amperage on a bright day. Then he will fit the lighting fixtures.

We won’t be able to finish the micro-hydro until John gets back, as the essential design of the ‘dramatic’ sourcing for the Penstock was his…. He had to return to Australia, but will return just after the construction team leaves, before early next month [September].
Michael – Simeon’s foreman – is intent on finishing up in the current two weeks ….but surely by the end of the current month. August completes a year since the five or six month job started.

Most of the bungalow construction is over, the last doors and windows on the two larger bungalows were finished today. Screens are all but complete, except for a change of colour that became obvious only once they were installed [bright light outside made it difficult to see through them]. No one is too happy about that. getting-close-going-home.jpg

But we’ve begun to install the kitchen cabinets, sink units and bathroom units [I can’t bring myself to use the word: vanities]. The showers are fully functional now – lacking only hot water which must wait for the micro-hydro. We won’t otherwise have enough power.
A couple of walkways, a couple more stairways down to the river …the screens, and the contractor’s job is over. Clean-up time will be a celebration. It’s a pity to have lost John in this especially poignant period, since we now have to bring the electrician back again to complete that final piece of the power system.

Philemon, the plumber turned out to be a godsend The prior gang buried the whole system underground without having tested it ….so of course not only were there leaks, but more critically, the hot and cold circuits were transposed at one hidden location.

All in all the entire project has been an interesting challenge…. But we are delighted it is nearly over. The logistics were daunting, beyond one’s imagination – the reality was far more dramatic than one could have been supposed. Remember, our nearby village is 8 ¼ kms away. There are no communications [other than small boat], or infrastructure of any sort. And the only road within 50 kms is the one we made to access the site and haul the building materials to it. a-handsome-home.jpg

So, after a year of ‘operations’ – with our Admin building ready for occupancy - we finally installed a satellite dish [and two transmitters for wi-fi]. I was able to take the MacBook I’m writing on now to the ‘admin’ building and make a skype call to the boss of the firm that installed the system.

It’s been drizzling and wet leaves no doubt absorb the signal; so sending this update may have to wait till tomorrow. Maybe, too, if it’s sunny we’ll include a few pictures. And so it was.

We’ve begun to eat from the garden this past few weeks. It’s a proliferation like neither of us has ever seen before; a unruly riot of luxuriant growth. You’ve never seen green cucumbers so big and tasty!

= = = = =

We are heading into the ‘fall’ although you’d never know it; the world remains fast asleep. Fascism intensifies by the minute, its reach so subtle the malignant construct is barely perceived.

So too has the casino been emptied ….at least of real people. They’ve been replaced by robot systems. The most elaborate Ponzi scheme of all time is showing its ragged edges [one gets the impression that the ‘real’ world is full of jokers].

But the clock is ticking, a reminder of the twenty-nine thousand years Fukushima will continue to poison our planet ….while warships and navies rendezvous in the eastern Med and western gulf – and you’re wondering what’s going on? C’mon….

Time To Prepare The Dance

July 1st, 2012

Over the last five years, during which while Edenhope sought to establish itself somewhere in this most extraordinary island in the South Pacific, we have shared with you much of our many adventures [and false starts] here, in cyberspace.

We have also learned much ….about us as well as about this place and its people. It always comes as a surprise that reality is as foreign to our host population as it is to our [and every] race. But then again the truth – that we are one species – is as foreign to them just as it is to most of us. Even our intimate relationships fail, at some certain level, to overcome these ‘differences’ between us.

Now then, we are preparing for the last act of the old world. But just before we go there, let’s ponder the great lesson we have learned since we began to participate more fully, more consciously, in what Thomas Berry called the real purpose of life in his…. “The Great Work”. Thus, in dedicating ourselves to Edenhope, we began to construct a real ‘universe-ity’ – where we can exercise the entirety of Life ….exactly as Great Spirit offered it to us; a heavenly part of the whole universe.

It should come as no surprise then that when we have fully finished our preparations for el quinto world ….the old [forsaken] one – the fourth – will have almost entirely ceded to its successor!

Words are inadequate to express the reality of the evolutional [apocalyptic] leap as we are about to experience. Monumental in the scheme of things, such an event is beyond the grasp of beings mired in illusion and adrift in a sea of narcotic invention. For many, though, it will come as the shocking moment they have always dreaded ….but the realization will come too late. ….Karma is, after all, inevitable.

So, it is time to open the doors of this university, to invite those of our brothers and sisters who are ready to take up the final task they are here for ….to join us in this sacred adventure.

Perhaps you have noticed that an application page was added to this site. You see, we really have reached the final stage; ‘purification time’ is nearly over. Most weren’t even aware it had begun but it had – the cosmic event that marked it in February 1962 was duly noted by a few of us. Our Hopi brethren had become alarmingly aware that time was indeed short; whereupon the elders sought to address their warnings to the world. As expected, the ‘world’ was fast asleep, dreaming….

The precipice on which we stand is always a profound moment in our sojourn through the materium. If we fail to acknowledge it, if we are unable to offer ourselves up to it in a sacred manner ….it is nonetheless personal choice ….the consequences of which we shall live with forever!

A Walk In The Park….

May 6th, 2012

It’s almost a year since Ruth and I first returned to the Edenhope site by driving to it, having completed the one ‘vital’ step that was necessary to the commencement of the ‘whole’ Project: making viable access to it.… ruth-touring-new-facility.JPGsteve-touring-likewise.JPG

Who could have imagined it would take at least 125 tonnes of materiel transported to it so that construction could begin…. And that yours truly would drive at least thirty five such loads of materials from the village to the site? all-doors-windows-are-on-site.JPG

John Patrick had made the road – well over eight kilometres of it – with Peter’s ‘Cat’ D-7. We had seen almost all of it by then, on the last of our previous visits. But only this time, on his last day, did we think about the last vital piece that was needed to complete it – surely it would take only another hour or so to make access to the actual site where construction would actually start …..and where materials would be stored. admin-also-ready-for-use.JPG

So, with the D-7 already gone, we had only the ‘Cat’ 950 Loader to do these last eighty meters or so from the ‘circle’ he’d made [really, a theatrical flourish] that signals one’s arrival at Edenhope. He had considered it the exclamation point to mark the end of his contract.

Now, with his usual good will, he agreed to drive up in the ‘Cat’ 950 if only for an hour or so…. We went up behind him in the Kawasaki ‘Mule’ ….and in the space of that ‘hour or so’, just over one and a half hours since setting out on the drive up, he pushed enough bush out of the way just under the high point of our village site to start construction; then parked the loader in a slip [that would one day, as it is today, be an access to the fruit orchard we would plant there]. Whereupon we returned, the three of us, to the shed [down at the village] to take possession of the keys ….and, of course, formal acceptance of ‘the road’. His boat was already waiting to leave ….. we’d pushed him to the limit.

It was much later in the afternoon than we had intended when we set out to spend this, our first night alone at ‘Edenhope’. In the rush we didn’t even consider flashlights but John had left a tool box, a bush knife and a small chainsaw in the ‘mule’.

At about 3.3kms of the road he’d made, mostly parallel to the beach, the road turns west into the deep forest. Three-quarters of a kilometre up that part of the road, on the left, there is an eye-catching torn and twisted stump of root beside the tree it was once part of. It’s a meter tall, but in silhouette, as one approaches, it appears to be a ‘feral’ – and seriously mechant – poodle glaring at whomsoever is intruding upon this enchanted place.

This was the third or fourth time I’d taken notice of it …..a chilly frison announcing the moment of recognition. Although giving me pause, I continued determinedly up the road. After another seven hundred or so metres, I had to brake abruptly; a tree had fallen across the road; it was only a short couple of hours since we drove down past this spot. Nothing so shocking an impediment could have been anticipated. Now night was near; sunset already begun.

It was clearly too big for the small chainsaw; besides, the many pieces it would have had to be cut into ….would still outweigh my ability to move them. The diameter of this fallen tree was close on half a meter.

Evening had already begun to set in and we were hard pressed for an immediate resolution. I just knew that the malevolent spirit was at the bottom of this ….but the direct personal challenge this represented would not daunt us…. Why on earth we hadn’t consider a torch [flashlight] though is still a mystery. I suppose it was the rush.

The Kawasaki was able to avoid the demised tree by going well around it, through the bush as we cleared it, Ruth and I. We made a pathway in an arc of about forty meters radius at its deepest, enough to get past the limbs of it that extended into the bush. That would get us back on the road. Using first the knife, and then the chain-saw, I cut a swath through the bush, fighting the increasing darkness in the headlights of the ‘mule’.

Little-by-little, with enough difficulty [including the drawing of a bit of blood on my foot] we made our way around the darkened bush and back onto the road. We still had almost four kms further to go.

Where we crossed the river – John had made a concrete ford with eight large tubes running through it – all the water passed easily under its roadbed. Then up diagonally across the farther bank. How poignant that it was not light enough to appreciate the beauty and wonder of this ride.

But we got there and parked the Mule in the slip with the Loader. Our arms full we set off in the dark to find our campsite – would we recognize the tarp that covered our hammocks in the dark? But, first, we had to find the site and neither of us were sure enough where it was….

On the second of the terraces we scaled down – or should I say: groped our way – in the dark, me with knife and overnight bag in my hands, I fell ….later having to nurse a few scrapes and a twisted knee [the latter would be remembered for many months]. I’m sure the arc we made should have been straight but it seemed an eternity before the shine of the tarp was at all visible before us. Nor did we realize that we had to descend three or four terraces to get back to this small sanctuary that waited for us.

It is a curious coincidence that one year later our campsite has become the bush kitchen that serves these two temporary cabins we now call bush cabin 1 & 2. And which both [since last week] have solar-powered electric lamps in them. bush-kitchen-improves.JPG

But that night, exhausted from our ordeal, and shortly after treating scrapes where the skin was broke with silver, we both forwent supper and tried to get comfortable wrapped up in the side-by-side hammocks. It was then that the silence and vastness of the forest around us – against the only sound we could discern: the river some twenty-odd meters below us – confronted the final threshold of awareness that lingered.

Then I heard the voices, along with other sounds like those of a crowd of perhaps women and children a kilometre or so away, ‘impossibly’ deep in the bush ….in the same direction we were facing. After a moment or two contemplating whether or not to ask Ruth if she heard them too, and before I could ….she turned toward me and asked if I heard these ‘same’ voices out there! Oh, yes…..

It was obvious to us both that the veil had been breached ….if ever so lightly ….to accept us in this [up until now] ….their home. And notwithstanding some opposition [let us simply call it that] we were made to feel welcome. Ruth knew it; I knew it. The comfort of ‘being’ was simply sublime. We both fell deeply asleep, curled up in our covers that dark winter night.

* * *

Yes, we’ve learned a lot about the respect one must have for the place one lives. One must come to it with loving-kindness, and humbly so. One doesn’t just step into a house that is – and has been – a natural home to the flora and fauna that have abided there forever. One cannot force ones’ self upon it.

All relationships mature over time; they require ‘give and take’ – surely more give than take. Life offers each of us the opportunity to find balance and purpose within certain delineated perimeters. This is the joy we have come to live with….

Soon the hustle and bustle of the construction phase will be over ….and our forest life turned over again to us. Thus we will learn to express the peace we have begun to know. God this is a magic kingdom! it is heaven. And Love is the path to Peace. And Peace to ,,,,Great Spirit

There are some ‘out there’ who don’t yet know us [though they are definitely not amongst the community of spirits with whom we share this sylvan space]. Nor do they realize that they are to establish communication with us …..as we have always been expecting them. But the two vectors that bear most on when this celestial/terrestrial intro will occur are: completion of the small village we are building ….and the state of the world outside this sacred space.

As to the first, well that is now less than two months away. All the building as well as additional scope in the contract have moved into the finishing phase. The transition wasn’t so subtle ….such that the times we spent in the bush were always quite exciting ….so much has been accomplished.

Yes…. the beauty of all this has already revealed a new and refreshing aspect of creation. So our efforts have counted, adding another dimension to the sacred space. Even by removing what they call here: ‘rubbish’ trees around the building sites ….what was most threatening has become more agreeable and caressing. We had left these trees initially because we hadn’t yet even begun to appreciate the balance we would need. We were also loathe to intrude precipitously on the life we found there, even in view of the growing crisis in the rest of the planet. mum-retg-fm-gdn.jpg
Now, we note with some relief that the world won’t end just yet ….at least not until we’re ready for it. That is not, however, a cause for, nor is there time for, celebration …. since it also means that there is much more destruction in the pipeline that will manifest first. Our relief is short-sighted though – our eyes turn back to the urgency of it all! now-fr-walkways-steps.jpg

Everyone knows the ‘status-quo’ won’t just roll over and say: ‘enough – we’ve taken all we could and we’re leaving now’….. But we must say once and for all ….it is just not salvageable; rotten to the core, it is too late to regenerate. So let it go….

It is an amazing that the net result of aggression and perversion has not brought about its ultimate demise sooner! It was obvious to anyone who cared that what has been realized ….was just not sustainable! But even as we marvel in astonishment at this result, it is simply to understand that terrestrial events must be synchronous with those above – since there really is no such thing as ‘time’. So we are both patient and grateful for the wee bit we still have; at least until this phase of Edenhope Project is over.admin-close-to-usable.jpg

Even as we speak so confidently…. of our own reality, the met office just gave us an additional surprise. It is forecasting increasing winds and high seas, with three and four meter swells in squalls ….right through our plan to depart this w/e by at least three or four days. And we were hoping to load one of the last few ship-charters we will have to make early this coming week. Commun Area Rdy fr Doors & Windows

Easter is almost here, after which [when work resumes] windows, doors and the many finishing touches of the carpenters will be the topmost on our priorities. The solar array and hydro installation are probably the last ‘building’ projects [apart from walkways and stairs] we expect to do.each-with-unique-view.jpg

We have had John back again, this time to undertake the difficult task of sourcing and completing the ‘penstock’ that will drive the micro-hydro. With both the flow and volume of our adjoining river, one would have thought it a relatively easy job ….but the water had to be sourced nearly a kilometre upriver, then siphoned to a reservoir [under construction as we write] one hundred and fifty meters below it ….from which the three-inch poly-pipe would deliver the appropriate pressure to drive the turbine ….another eight hundred-odd metres down-stream.

He will also establish a spring approx. 150 metres up behind us as our primary source of water [the river being an alternate]. Thus if it does not flow adequately in the dry season, when the always-fulsome river is at its cleanest, the latter can also serve our purposes. soon-finish.jpg

Speaking of water, the boat has done us well, even if our satisfaction is somewhat marred by the excessive quantity of gas it burns each round trip: at ¾ of a drum, with eight people, a full tank and ¾ of a ton of cargo on board, obviously more than it was designed to carry, it reminds me of those heavy take-offs I often made in the seventies out of Miami ….when the tops of the downtown buildings were higher than we were climbing out toward Biscayne Bay.

Well, the day is ending ….the noise of the power generator is silenced and gone from all but memory; the guys have gone back to the camp; Peace & Quiet once more reign in the forest around us. The gentle flow of the river fills in the empty spaces. view-fm-shower.jpg

In less than an hour it will darken – by when the fire will already be cooking the evening meal. John will return well after dark once the tracked-truck is loaded again with gravel and some more materiel – always more. He’ll pick Ruth up where he left her on the corner before the road turns inland from the coast – she planted about twelve coconut trees there that in a couple of years will quench the thirst of many who walk the trail along the coast.

So as these last days, of March [early April] dim, we wish you too a pleasant night.
